Meet our new brand - Maska !

This winter at Copenhagen Fashion Week, we fell for the swedish brand MASKA. Not only is their quality great, but the colors and designs are on point, and their sustainable profile is strong. We are happy to introduce the brand in our store!

MASKA (means “knitted stitch” in Swedish) was founded in 2009. The idea was to start a brand that took the best parts from the hand knitting world – the quality of yarns and the elaborate structures – and make it commercially available.

Each MASKA garment is crafted from natural fibres, and only use oil-based fibres or threads to enhance the performance of a garment, never to reduce costs. Buttons and knitting yarns are always natural materials.

All knitwear yarn is spun in Europe apart from the cashmere and silk blend. All yarns and fabrics are handpicked, and all knitwear is produced in the EU following the labor laws of the European Union, apart from one style which is produced in Nepal at a Swedish-owned factory. Though outside the EU, this supports the growth of local industry. The factory is managed according to fair labour guidelines created by the international non-profit organisation Fair Wear Foundation. All woven garments are also produced within the E.U. following the labour laws of the European Union.

Not only is the choice of fibers important, but also the garment’s entire lifecycle and frequency of wear and care. Selecting materials that age with grace and are long-lasting is central to the sourcing philosophy.
